It was a sell out, and a great start for this next chapter. (I hate to say chapter, it sounds a little pretentious, but there really isn't a better word)

So our first single as Wolf Am I, Glasgow Seven, is released June 22nd via Alcopop! Records.

Our press will start coming in soon. An exciting/anxious time.
We've had a little piece already in Rocksound this month, and I just signed the MTV release forms for our video. So that should be on TV soon!

Dates/pre-orders will be announced June 1st on myspace.com/wolfami .

I know we have been quiet lately, but I cant stress to you enough how frustrating it is not touring and playing live. The releases are dawning on us however, and that is all about to change. Apologies.

So from the 9th to the 16th of January 2009 we travelled up and down this very country on our very first ever headline tour. (well...first ever legit headline tour)

After the nine hour drive, we made it to Glasgow, Scotland. We all love playing there, and it feels like our second hometown in a way. Partly because we play there SO much (6 times in 6 months!) and partly because the Scottish music fans are very warm, agreeable creatures. The show was a success and not far off selling out, so thank you to everyone at King Tuts! (This is a photo of the stage just after soundcheck)

Day two brought us to Manchester. Another favorite city of mine. We turned up to the tiny (110 capacity!) venue with an extremely sensible name, The Jabez Clegg. It was the most memorable show of tour. Firstly it was a great crowd and was nice to see some familiar faces. Secondly this is the first night we were introduced to the debauched but very loving Omes. And lastly, there was one over excited fan that had a few too many sherbets and decided it was OK to urinate on the floor in front of everyone whilst we were playing. Hats off to you madam...(and next time take your underwear off first too)

Day three and the drive all the way to Newcastle Academy 2 was a long one. But one worth the wait. We met our very kind rep from Kilimanjiro and settled in. Soundcheck was long, and Jack Margerison was literally gassing the place up with his own brand of methane poison. After we ate, I went and did an interview with Stefan for the Copenhagen Post. Im not a fan of doing interviews, I always feel like my answers sound forced, but I think that's usually down to the moronic questions. This time however, I was pleasantly surprised. He was a very friendly gentleman, a huge Smiths/Morrissey fan (like myself) and the questions were informative and significant.
Anyway, the show was great, the lighting rig was the best yet, so Josh (our best friend and lighting guy) really had his chance to shine (no pun intended.) Thank you Newcastle! (Here is a photo from outside the venue)

Day four of tour and we make the drive to Stoke-On-Trent. We always play Stoke on a bloody Sunday. Nothing is open on a bloody Sunday. Ah well, we set up, and I start on the wine. Luke and Todd from Omes tell me how to get high from cough medicine, theyve been on it all day. Literally love these guys. We chill out and the show begins. Everything goes great, my personal favorite so far!
After we play, Josh runs up and tells me that there's people selling fake merch outside. I thought he was pulling my leg, so I had a look, and sure enough there was an array of fake KTA tee's and hoodies. Some of it was quite nice actually! But theyre stealing from us, so we give them the finger and tell everyone not to fund their dishonest lifestyle. The world is saved.

Day five is the Little CivicWolverhampton. Last night we stayed up in the hotel until 5am and we all got trashed. So today we're very tired. After everything is loaded in, we all pick up an instrument and jam on stage, for about 2 hours... Later on I do another interview for another magazine and we have a photo shoot and we play. The show was fun! Although Josh overheated the lighting desk and we were in darkness for a few seconds during our set. Later on we all enjoyed a Raaji Dut. We say goodbye to Omes. (here's a photo of Luke)

Day six, London. We pick up our new rental van from Tiger Tours and head to the Camden Barfly. When we arrive I meet a very nice chap from a band called Twenty Five To Nine who won a competition to play with us. We sound check, best sound of tour so far, and all head to Nando's. Collectively I think we consumed 8+ chickens on this tour alone. We get introduced to the very rebellious and very young Hunting The Minotaur (who are joining us from here on) and then play the show. Success.
London shows are always quite hectic however. My phone just doesnt stop. If it's not a friend asking for guestlist, it's our manager asking for guestlist, or its the bloody rep asking us to submit our final guestlist. Basically, my two most hated words, whilst in London, are GUEST and LIST. Anyway, we celebrate by drinking some more beer, and head HOME! Sleeping in our own beds. A forgotten luxury at this point.

Day seven is spent in Southampton. We drag ourselves out of our beds and all jump in the van. Once we arrive at the venue, we set all of our equipment up. Hamptons has this theatrical looking red curtain on the back wall so it makes our backdrop look extremely important. Fnar fnar. We play the show and it goes really well. Nothing too hectic. Me, Chris, Sam, Jack and Sam's friend Andy all head back to Sams place for a cultured evening of fine wine, parma violets and conversation.

Our final show is Portsmouth. We turn up to the venue called The Cellars. It's absolutely tiny! I set up the V1 Fogger and we're pretty much ready to go. We take a brisk walk into Eastney and enjoy the culinary delights of their fast food strip. This hasnt been a particularly healthy tour for us. The long tours we do, we tend to eat and drink alot healthier. But the shorter ones are a little more intense because there is just so much travelling and after the cabin fever sets in we need to relax. (That's my excuse anyway) The show was great, saw some familiar faces, did another interview and we waved goodbye to Hunting The Minotaur.

Here is a visual summary...<br Both bands are genuine, good guys and have worked hard to get where they are. Much respect.

It was personally my favorite tour to date, and I even got to sing with Sherwood on the last night in London, when they did a cover of Holiday by The Get Up Kids! Thanks to everyone we met. We will see you again.

We have loads of new dates with You Me At Six and Furthest Drive Home and we even get to go to Ireland to play with Steer Clear for a couple of shows, so we're very excited about that. I've never been to Ireland!

We also shot a video for our new single Bon Voyage which is now up on our myspace page! We're so excited about everyone hearing it, we've had a great response already, so thanks so much for all the feedback!

We're still in talks with labels about releasing our album, and nothing is set in stone, so we'll let you know exactly what happens, when it happens!

I'm off to eat some Cadbury's Milk Chocolate, you know just the standard bars, I'm ADDICTED to them at the moment. But there is far too much information to write here so I'll just talk about the golden moments. We started in Southampton, at a club called unit 22, it was our first show of 2008 and it was SO much fun, thank you so much to everyone that made it out that night. It didnt even start until 10.30 pm so everyone was pretty shattered after it, and I felt so out of shape after the long break since our last show in december!

The London date of our tour was excellent, I was really suprised to see so many new faces at the Water Rats, and was completely blown away by how many of you where into it! It was our first proper London headline show so thanks a bunch to everyone that made it out. It was a total shame that Jaimison couldnt play that show, for some reason they didnt get booked and I was totally gutted about it. I think that everyone there would have loved them so check them out. That day i remembered how completely toilet british public transport is when i had to get to tottenham ct. road and back before we played. it took me about a hundred hours.

Scott (Canterbury's drummer) allways had his video camera out poking it in peoples noses, and he is making a tour video, so im sure if you watch that then you will get the idea of how much fun we all had. (one other thing about canterbury, is that they LOVE to dance. they didnt stop for the whole bloody tour. godbless.)

As many of you probably already know, we've been writing for our debut full length, which is almost finished and will be recorded next month. We've been playing a couple of songs from the album recently and we've been getting a good vibe from people about them so im really excited to get the record finished and in your ears!!! we also have a new shirt so check that out if you havent already.

I think writing this has made my eyes go square, so I should stop before it turns into a hardback novel. We are planning to tour again at the end of may and through some of june so keep your eyes peeled for those dates we'll be playing some more of the new stuff, and it will be the last tour we do with chris our bassplayer so lets make it one to remember!!

Kind Regards,
Samuel.

Rush And A Push And The Land Is Ours

It's Saturday 23rd of Feb.

Frank and Chris are back from The Rocket Summer tour. I went and saw them in Manchester and it was a good night. I went to a club after and got kicked out because I took a drink outside. They said we couldn't return for at least 6 months. Good.

We've been writing lots recently, we're not far off finishing the album now. We're all very proud of it, and it feels right. There is a special feeling about it, like we're sitting on something big. We'll just have to see what happens when everyone hears it!

We're recording the drums and bass at British Grove studios which we're extremely excited about. It's the same studio The Beatles recorded the Sgt. Pepper album, which completely blows our mind. The guitars/vocals etc we're doing between Outhouse Studios and our friend Josh (who recorded the EP.)

So a few days ago Chris announced that after the album is recorded he will no longer be playing with us. He's going back to university in Huddersfield. We're all gutted about this decision, but as a friend and a human being, we support him all the way. He'll still be part of Kill The Arcade whatever he does.

So that's about it really! We go on tour next week with Canterbury and Jaimison which I'm very excited about, as I love both bands. Come see us if we're playing near you! We're playing two new album songs, and we'll have new merch for sale (which includes our homage to The Smiths t-shirt)

Keep well, and get mad!

Lee x

Girlfriend In A Coma

Canterbury inspired me to start this blog.

I'm currently laying on my bed, watching Eastenders and thinking about packing my suitcase.

I go on the Kerrang! Tour with Chris N for two weeks as from tomorrow, helping out with all his Atticus stuff so that should be good. If any of you are at any of the dates, come to the Atticus stand and say hello!

Frank is away pretty much exactly the same time as I am with The Secret Handshake, as he is playing drums for Luis on the whole tour. Chris is going too; I think he is driving and doing merch. We're meeting up in Manchester after their show as we have a day off, so that should be a fruitful rendez-vous.

We're still writing for the album, and we're over half way in. It's the best music we've ever written by far. So we're extremely excited and impatient about getting it out. It doesn't have a title yet, but we'll keep you informed. Recording commences April 1st through to May 1st.

As far as touring is concerned, I'm itching to play again. It feels like I haven't played for about 67 years but its been about a month. We're touring from Feb 28th - March 10th all around the UK with Canterbury and Jaimison. Two very brilliant bands. (We'll put the dates up on our page in the next couple of days. ) Listen to them here...www.myspace.com/canterbury & www.myspace.com/jaimisonband .

I think that pretty much sums it up for now, oh actually we have new merch. We'll put it up for sale very soon. Everything else is now sold out! We did put in another order for the monster shirts as well, as they seem to be the most popular!

Right everyone, I need to check my tumble drier to make sure my clothes haven't shrunk to Action Man size.

Lee.
